But attending a mass gathering like a tradeshow – in a world with COVID, cooped up indoors with 30,000 people you don’t know – is definitely not on your bucket list.
We’ve built a show just for you. We are moving to Park City, one of the most authentic mountain proving grounds in the world. We will deliver a dynamic multi-category event designed for retailers, by retailers. We’ll be outside, with just our core community and all the brands that matter, large and small.
And, we’ll even pay you to attend. It doesn’t get much better than that!

That’s because we know that traveling is expensive, especially the time spent away from the shop. So for all invited retailers, we’ll cover some of your travel expenses to get here.

The Big Gear Show features equipment, hardgoods, accessories, and a limited assortment of technical footwear and apparel which we consider “gear that you wear.” The primary categories are paddling, cycling, climbing, and camping. Overall, we focus on gear that gets people outside.
We are the outdoor industry, so we’ll be outside – testing products in the environments they were designed for. Brands will be in tents. Boat companies on the water. Bike companies near the lifts, roads, trails, and paths. Outdoor companies in between. The event will itself be a demo – thus, you can see product on display, go take it for a paddle, ride or hike, and then come back to the booth to plan your buy. The show lasts three days, so you can take your time and make the right calls on the right gear.
Brands will be invited to attend based on feedback from our retailers. Special emphasis will be placed on new, up-and-coming brands with innovative, high-quality products. We want to be the place for you to discover the innovators, disrupters, and upstart brands – but we’ll also feature the larger brands you know, love, and rely on. We’re limiting the number of brands to 250 because success for us is about quality, not quantity. Our goal is to maximize brand/retailer engagement and minimize distractions. Once you accept your invitation, you will become a part of that brand selection process.
The main event grounds will be located outside at Deer Valley Resort. Paddlesports booths will extend along the shoreline of six acres of pristine, mountain-fed ponds. Outdoor and bike companies will have immediate access to the Silver Lake Express lift, which will carry riders and hikers off to mountain trails. For road-related products, cyclists will roll directly onto excellent Park City roads and bike paths. The site is surrounded by high-quality condos, hotel rooms, and foodservice options. Our social events will take place five minutes away in downtown Park City.
The show is free for invited retailers. That includes hotel lodging and three days of water and lift tickets. Plus, we’ll have swag, a buyer’s lounge, and entertainment available for buyers.
